SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The current member who recruits the most new members (who have never before been a member) from January 8, 2012, through January 5, 2013, will receive a $300 scholarship. The second most prolific recruiter will receive a $200 scholarship. These awards will be presented at our annual awards banquet.

  1. New members are defined as individuals who have never before been a JMGSC member and must meet our membership and sanctioning rules.
  2. Membership form and dues must be received in the JMGSC office no later than January 5, 2013.
  3. The name of the current member who recruited the new member must be on the “Name of JMGSC member who referred you” line on the membership form. (There must be ONLY one name on this line.)
  4. The members who receive credit for recruiting new members for the scholarships are also eligible to earn 2 points per new member up to a maximum of 10 points per show season. There is no limit on how many members can be recruited to win one of the scholarships, but there is a 10-point limit on the 2-points per new member reward, as stated above.
  5. This scholarship opportunity is open to all members regardless of age.  It will not be divided into age divisions.
  6. In the event of a tie, the scholarship awards will be divided among all eligible recipients.

IF YOU HAVE AN ADDRESS CHANGE FOR ANY REASON, THE PURPLE CIRCLE ASKS THAT YOU CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY (NOT THE JMGSC) AS SOON AS YOU KNOW YOUR NEW ADDRESS. WHEN MAGAZINES ARE UNDELIVERABLE, THE USPS CHARGES PURPLE CIRCLE. THOSE RECEIVING COMPLIMENTARY SUBSCRIPTIONS (LIKE JMGSC MEMBERS) RUN THE RISK OF LOSING THEIR SUBSCRIPTION IF YOU DO NOT NOTIFY PURPLE CIRCLE IN AMPLE TIME.

GET YOUR 2012 MEMBERSHIP IN TODAY!
Memberships must be renewed at this time to be eligible to receive points in the 2012 season.  Each member earns 5 points when dues are received and an additional 5 points if received by January 31, 2012*.
Your age division for 2012 will be based on your age as of 1/1/13.

*PLEASE NOTE:

Membership Rule #11 states:  Each member of the JMGSC will pay an annual membership fee of $25.00. Members will be awarded points after dues are paid, NOT before. The date dues and fully completed membership forms are received by the JMGSC Executive Secretary will determine the date of membership. You will receive 5 points for entering and 5 extra bonus points if dues are received by January 31, 2012. Postmarked dates will NOT be accepted.

Clarifications:

  1. If you forget to enclose a check or money order with your form, your membership is not effective until the money is RECEIVED.
  2. Postmark dates, dates of application and dates of check are NOT accepted as membership effective dates. Only the date the dues are RECEIVED in the JMGSC office are considered membership effective dates.
  3. There are NO exceptions to this rule. This rule applies equally to everyone and has been in place since at least 2002!

**Allow a MINIMUM of 5 regularly scheduled mail delivery days for mail to reach this office. This location does not have overnight mail!

Please help JMGSC exhibitors get the recognition they deserve! The Purple Circle, in an effort to showcase our members, asks show superintendents or parents who have pictures from a JMGSC-sanctioned show to send them in to the Purple Circle for publication. This is especially important for the majors. Clearly label them with the name of the show, the exhibitor’s name and the placing in the show. If you request it, they will return your pictures.

The Top Ten placings are posted on our website, www.jmgsc.com. For complete point totals of ALL members, check your monthly Purple Circle. Any questions may be e-mailed to jmgsc.tx@gmail.com, or call 325-884-3645.

Success in the Show Ring books are available in bright orange, neon yellow, and pulsating pink. It is a great way to track your year as well as important information on each goat. They are available for $10 at some shows or you may send a check for $12 per book to JMGSC, 1004 Virginia Circle, Big Lake, TX 76932, and specify the color.

The Junior Meat Goat Show Circuit was established in 1996 as a non-profit organization to promote the meat goat industry and give meat goat exhibitors opportunities afforded to exhibitors of other species. It remains the meat goat organization of choice for approximately 200 youth each year and exists solely for their benefit. It is governed by a board of directors comprised of volunteers interested in meat goats and a junior board composed of JMGSC members. If you want to be a member of an organization dedicated entirely to meat goats and their exhibitors, join the
