The Junior Directors

President – Audrey Turner
Audrey, a 16-year-old Dublin High School junior, has been showing goats for 9 years, along with steers and hair sheep. She doesn’t like the long car rides but was very excited with winning Reserve Grand Champion at the San Angelo Stock Show. She claims the goat costume contest at the JMGSC Show is the funniest thing she has witnessed at a show. Audrey also participates in Livestock and Mohair Judging, 4-H and FFA leadership events and Student Council. Planning to attend Texas A&M, Audrey claims to know how to dougie.

Vice-President – Colton Fritz
Fredericksburg is the home of our Vice-President who is a 17-year-old senior. Colton has been showing goats for 8 years as well as lambs and heifers. He most enjoys placing high and watching all his hard work pay off and likes meeting lifelong friends. Colton does not like arriving at a show with little or no sleep, but thinks it was all worth it when he won Reserve Champion Angus heifer at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and Reserve Champion hair sheep at the Texas State Fair. Colton was quite amused at the kid who ripped his pants in the show ring at a heifer show. His hobbies outside of showing include raising Angus heifers, working on old cars, and driving. He plans to attend a junior college to participate in Livestock Judging, then transfer to A&M or Tech to continue judging and get a major in Ag or Civil Engineering. Colton is Area VII FFA Vice-President and is currently very involved in Livestock Judging.

Secretary – Lindsey Cobb
Lindsey thinks the funniest event she has ever witnessed was watching both her parents “try” to show a goat and dislikes traveling long distances and losing. She is a 14-year-old freshman from Slaton. who has shown goats for 7 years, and also shows sheep, pigs, and steers. Meeting new friends and seeing old ones is her favorite part of showing, and winning Reserve Champion Middleweight goat and 1st with her steer at Ft. Worth was her most exciting win. Lindsey plans to attend Texas A&M, study animal science, and become a vet – a very achievable goal for a young lady who is ranked 2nd in her class!

Parliamentarian – Logan Lee
Logan Lee hails from Rankin, Texas, and has been showing goats for 7 years. She is a 17-year-old junior who also shows lambs and likes winning but not teaching animals how to walk. Her most exciting win came at the Ft. Worth Stock Show where she showed the Reserve Champion Dorper. The funniest event Logan has witnessed at a show was seeing people fall in the ring. When she’s not showing or working her animals, Logan likes to participates in sports. She plans to become an RN, and finds it interesting that she is double-jointed.

Member – Garrett Hancock
Garrett calls Liberty Hill home and is a 17-year-old senior who has been showing goats for 9 years along with pigs. His favorite aspect of showing is the friends he makes and the least aspect is travel time to shows. Garrett’s most exciting win came at the 2007 Texas State Fair. Acting and band are the activities he participates in other than showing and Garrett plans to attend Texas A&M, then NYU. He is a District 8 officer and an award-winning actor. To quote Garrett when asked what was the funniest event he has witnessed at a show, he said, “T.J…. ’nuff said.”

Member – Chance Medlock

Member – Taylor Osborn
Fifteen-year-old sophomore, Taylor, lives in Post and has been showing goats for 7 years. She likes meeting new people and dislikes clipping goats. Most exciting for her was winning 8th place at the Houston Livestock Show. Besides showing, she enjoys playing sports and horse judging. Taylor believes the funniest thing she has witnessed at a show was watching her mom trying to show a goat. She plans to attend college and major in nursing. She wants everyone to know that she likes singing (off key) along with the car radio.

Member – Ian Cobb
Ian is a 13-year-old 8th-grader from Slaton who has been showing goats for 6 years and also shows pigs, steers, chickens, and sheep. His favorite part of showing is spending time with and working with his family – and winning! He least likes the long road trips and getting beat. His most exciting win is Lindsey (his sister) winning Reserve Middleweight at Ft. Worth! Ian’s explanation of the funniest event he has witnessed at a show is, “At my first county show, I was in the last class with a 120-pound goat and was drug around the ring 3 times right after my parents had told me to not let go of my goat. All of this is on tape, too.” His hobbies outside of showing include shooting skeet and trap, football, baseball, track, FFA, and 4-H. His dreams for the future are to attend Texas Tech and study anesthesiology or go to MIT and study engineering. Interesting facts about him are that he started shooting skeet and trap this spring after never even picking up a shotgun before the previous fall. After 8-10 weeks of practice with a very good mentor’s help, he finished 4th in District Skeet and Trap 4-H Intermediate age group. He also notes he is valedictorian everywhere he goes to school.

Member – Braden Grady
Braden is a 3-year veteran of the show ring and loves winning, but hates losing. He is a 15-year-old freshman from McCamey who also shows sheep and loves to hunt and fish. His most exciting win came at Ft. Worth. Watching his friend getting drug around by his goat and lamb was the funniest event Braden has witnessed at a show. He loves to play Call of Duty Black Ops and plans to go to ASU and work in the oilfield.

Member – Brittany Sanders
14-year-old Harper freshman, Brittany Sanders has been showing goats for 8 years and also shows lambs. Traveling to the stock shows, seeing all the people, and of course, showing is her favorite part of being involved in this industry. She dislikes teaching the animal how to show and leaving them behind at major shows. Brittany’s most exciting win came at the San Antonio Livestock Show where she had 3rd Overall Champion Southdown Market Lamb and was presented an $8000 scholarship. She finds watching the “Old Goat Showmanship” every year at the Annual JMGSC Show to be most humorous! Basketball, volleyball, scrapbooking, NJHS, NHS, youth groups, hunting, and shopping occupy her time when she is not with her animals. She also LOVES to watch Cake Boss and says, “Therefore, I love making cakes! :)

Member – Kirsten Shaw
Kirsten is a sophomore who hails from Mason. In her 15 years, she has spent 6 of them showing goats, lambs and a heifer. She loves going to the majors and seeing out of town friends but hates breaking the goats! Her 3rd place showmanship at Ft. Worth and 3rd place at Houston were her most exciting wins. The funniest event she has witnessed at a show was the charades at Houston! Kirsten also participates in sports and plans to go to college and major in pediatrics, go to medical school and become a pediatrician. Kirsten is proud to say she can back her dad up to a trailer perfectly at 5:00 in the morning so she can get in the truck and go back to sleep!
